INTERPRETATION SERVICES

• In a partnership with the University of Washington School of Computer Science & Engineering and School of Human Centered Design, G2L designed a mobile application that gives users on-demand access to a network of volunteer interpreters

• The Seattle Area American Red Cross provides volunteers from the Red Cross Language Bank when an interpreter is needed

• G2L helped HealthPoint pilot a video chat system for medical interpretation that allows immediate and affordable access to an interpreter. HealthPoint is now rolling this system out to each of its 17 clinics

 

INTERPRETER TRAINING

• In partnership with Highline Community College and with funding from the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County, G2L created a new Certified Medical Interpreter training program. The program provides low-income individuals with multiple language skills an opportunity for well-paid employment

• During the first quarter of training in the fall of 2012, 18 individuals were trained and at least five went on to immediate employment
